The Ronin S3 Pro is a stabilizer for mirrorless and DSLR cameras. Its arms are more extended than those of the RS 2, making it easier to install larger configurations (Sony FX6, Canon C70, Red Komodo, BMPCC 6K Pro). It can support up to 4.5 kg, with stabilization performance some 20% better than its predecessor (third-generation RS stabilization algorithm).
Still on the subject of new features, the RS 3 Pro offers automatic axis locking with a simple press of the power button. This saves time between shots by locking the axes and putting the motors on standby. The cradle can even fold itself when the power is switched off (function can be deactivated).
In terms of ergonomics, the RS 3 Pro incorporates a new mode switch that lets you toggle between Pan follow, Pan and Tilt follow, and FPV modes. Note that 3D Roll 360 and Portrait modes can only be selected if the switch is set to FPV. The OLED touchscreen has been enlarged (1.8″ vs. 1.4" on the RS 2), making it easier to navigate and adjust the various parameters.
